"You are not here to live a mediocre to average life; you are here to live an amazing life, a miraculous life. If it weren't for your challenges, there would be no miracles. You must do that which seems impossible, for it is only in the impossible that miracles are had." - author unknown, but very respected

Friday's Fabulous Five

1. My Mom's Chicken soup on Friday night was definitely Fabulous.

2. Lazy Saturday and listening to my little kiddos pray for their big sis to get better.

3. I got to visit my old friend Erin out in Sanday on Monday. She was visiting from Minnesota and took time out of her visiting schedule to catch up with me. It was SO nice. Erin and I were friends in Middle School. We were also roomies at EFY. The year that I got sick and ended up in the hospital. Erin's always been one of those special people in my life. She's just really "normal" :)

4. Bradley didn't get sick! How fabulous is that! He was THE only one in the ENTIRE family to not get sick. I still can't figure it out! When you ask him he says, "You just have to wash your hands for 20 seconds and not touch anybody! Then you don't get sick." Well then. I find it interesting that he gets sick so little when he is the only kid I didn't nurse full time. My milk dried up before he was 2 months old, and he so he got less than anyone, and yet he is the healthiest one. What does that do to the theories behind breastmilk for me?? Kinda ruins it all!! (that's for all you bottle-feeding advocates out there) I really do believe there is more good to breastfeeding that that though :) just for the record.... and if you can, I think it's best. If you can't, like I couldn't with Brad, then remember this- they'll survive.
But anyway, everyone eventually got better! I'm even more grateful for the fact that we rarely get sick.

5. I got to go out with Nate last night finally :). It's really been too long. Erika came with us. And I was thinking, isn't it funny that taking a baby with me to a restaurant seems like a break? Well, it is. And I never would have thought that back when I just had Charity. I remember needing to go out without her when we had just one. Kinda funny how we adapt. And I do love the looks we get from people and the questions about if this is our first..... sometimes it's fun to just pretend she is. And I can avoid the whole "SIX KIDS?!!!!!!". Anyway. It was fun, we went to Olive Garden with some gift cards. So FREE and DATE .... can't beat that. We made it home in time to watch the Jazz game. Thanks to my mom who made this date night possible. She's been so helpful with the babysitting for all my dr. appointments and such too.... what would I do.....

6. Today I learned how to stop doing the dishes to calm my crying child. Strange that it's taken me this long to learn that? yes. Is my kitchen going to suffer now? yes. But I managed to just turn off the water, pick her up, and feed her. Normally I would (bad mom) either let her cry or have the boys try to stall for me while I finish the mile high pile of dishes in the sink. But not this time!!!! And I'm just patting myself on the back, thinking I'm the coolest thing ever while I update my FFF, and waste some more time on facebook rather than doing my dishes..... how nice is that :) Anyway, hopefully I can carry this in to the stopping other things to calm her as well..... we'll see.
