I figured I should probably set some goals for the New Year. I'm not a big "resolution" fan, simply because I rarely even remember what I "resolved" to do. I remember as a kid we would write our New Year's Resolutions on a slip of paper and put them in our stockings to be taken out at the end of the year (Christmas time) to see how we did. I was often surprised at what I read and hadn't even come close to following it. So anyway. I just want to set some GOALS. Things that I should be doing and want to do.
1. Smile. This can be difficult sometimes. But it has saved my day many times. My kids like it when I smile and behave differently when I am happy (or appear to be).
2. Work. I keep reading articles and hearing talks and lessons on the importance of staying busy an working hard. I like to work hard, and I enjoy feeling like I've accomplished things. I just have a hard time motivating myself. I want to work my way through stressful times, down times and all the other times too. My grandpa had a quote "Why kill time when you can work it to death?". Less Facebook, less sleeping in. This will be a tough one.
3. Play. I want to be better at playing with my kids during the day. This may sound like it contradicts my last goal, but it doesn't. I used to be so good at having a craft ready to go each day when my girls were home and doing that, but I've slacked off. And my boys deserve more structured playtime-s. They are just so easily entertained by hot wheels and dinosaurs that it's just easy to let myself do me stuff instead.
4. Read. As much as I hate to read, I would like to do better at it this year. Starting with the scriptures. We're doing great with our family scripture time, but personal.... not so good. It will be better.
5. Exercise. Time to lose the baby fat.
6. Wife. I believe that is a verb here. Nate deserves so much more. I want to work on putting him VERY first in my life again. It's easy to get distracted, and when I'm pregnant.... well.... it's all about me. So I would like to make it all about him this year. It's about time for that.
7. Make my bed when I wake up.
8. Create. Just like the conference talk. I want to make more crafts and do more creative things.
9. Think of one more goal because having less than ten is bugging my brain out.

I totally haven't thought of goals or even have the desire to set any. I'm like you. I set them and forget about them until I find my list 9 months later. You are ambitious to set 9 let alone 10! I think I might set 1 for the year. But maybe this year I will actually do it. We'll see:)
